Time for the "Cero Peso" Campaign

  OK y'all:

Dingy Harry is going to bring the shamnesty bill back up for a vote.  Many of our  Senators have sold out and support this new version.   Let's let them know how we feel in a language they understand:  money.

Every other week I get a solicitation from the RNC.   They are always asking for money.  Every few months I alsdo get a note saying it's time to renew my "annual dues".  (I thought "annual dues" were only once a year.   Does anyone else get these notices every few months ??)

In May 2006, my personal blog goddess, Michelle Malkin,   promoted a fun way to send the RNC our message about enforcing current immigration laws and securing the border.  It's  called the"cero peso" campaign.   If you go to that link,  you will find phony peso bills you can print out and send to the RNC whenever they ask for money.   They are really funny,  but are also an effective way to send a message.

I sent some this morning in response to two separate solicitations,  one for W's 61st birthday.  (I even signed that birthday card that came with it.)   Don't forget to fill out your "donor info" on the back of the RNC form when you mail them.

Tell the RNC , "I'll start sending money when you start enforcing our immigration laws."

How Hillary Will Bring Down Obama

There is no doubt in my mind Hillary will be the DNC nominee for President.   Obama may be high in the polls,  but when the time is right,  Hillary will cut his achilles tendon.  This tendon's name is Antoin Rezko.  Rezko  is a Syrian immigrant who has been indicted on federal charges of influence peddling and business fraud in Illinois Gov. Blagojevich's office.   He is also a big fundraiser for Obama.  He has helped raise a lot of money for him through the years.   He also sold him some land to expand Obama's yard.   Barack Hussein Obama's friend still does business with Middle Eastern bankers.   (Nothing to be alarmed about I'm sure.)

Hillary will use this info to her advantage when the time is right.   Then,  she will help him up and ask him to be her vice-presidential running mate.    She may help him fight off this scandal....once he agrees to be her VP.  Who better to advise one about fighting influence peddling and shady land deal charges than a Clinton?

A Clinton-Obama ticket will be strong.  Americans tend to have a lot of liberal guilt.  A tremendous way to alleviate it would be to vote for a woman for President and a black man as Vice-president.   The DNC will label the GOP nominee as an old white man (with cancer if it's Rudy or Fred).  Clinton-Obama will be labeled as a fresh start.  A time for "healing"  after an "unjust and illegal" war.

If only there were a way for the GOP to neutralize this demographic advantage.   Is there someone we can put on the ticket who will continue fighting the war on terror,  supports the 2nd Amendment, and opposes federal funding of abortion?   Someone who is open to being a VP or President?  Hmmm....

Syrian Diplomacy: Comparing Condoleezza Rice to Nancy Pelosi

Michelle Malkin recently compared Condoleezza Rice to Nancy Pelosi for meeting with officials in Syria.   I think there is a very big difference between the two visits.

Nancy's visit was mainly to appease the terrorists and embarass the president.  it was also to initiate her own form of "diplomacy".  (She sent that fake message from Olmert to the Syrians, remember?)  She was going as a newly minted House Speaker, on behalf of herself,  not on behalf of the U.S.

Now,  let's look at Dr. Rice's visit.  There were specific issues discussed at this meeting.  This wasn't a cotillion for the debut of a new House Speaker.   At this meeting,  Dr. Rice said that Syria needs to close its borders to terrorists.     Face to face meetings with foreign officials,  even those we consider our enemies are important.   They show foreign officials thhat we take them seriously.   It is also the most directy way to convey our message.  This is one of Condi's strengths.   Many countries will not listen to Bush,  but they will listen to her.

Now,  don't get me wrong.  I am all for the "blow them all up and ask questions later" form of diplomacy for those countries who attack the U.S. or pose an imminent nuclear threat.     However, face-to-face meetings with countries are needed to prevent situations from rising to that level.    This is true even for countries we consider our enemies.

For a good explanation of her diplomacy philosophy ,  read this.

Obama Plays the Race Riot Card for 2008

Obama spoke to a crowd of 8000 African Americans at the Hampton University Convocation Center on Monday.  He was introduced after several black ministers spoke to the audience.  There was also lots of gospel music sung.  (but remember, according to the Dems there must be separation between the church and state) (but only for Republicans)    .

Anyway,  this may have been a routine campaign stop, except for something Obama spoke about:  the pain behind black riots.   He talked about the Rodney King riots springing from injustice.  He also referred to Hurricane Katrina and the despair the black community felt.   Then he referred to "quiet riots",   being born from "a sense of disconnect" and when "hope dissipates".  He said it's a result of despair ,  people think things aren't going to get better.  He seemed to be saying that riots are justified due to despair.

He also warned of a "quiet riot" on the horizon.  He said Bush has done nothing to defuse this riot threatening to erupt.   Couching a natural disaster in political terms is bad enough.   I read between the lines in this speech and I hope I'm wrong.   Is he suggesting that blacks should riot if he doesn't win the election??????   It'd make sense from a "journalist" point of view.   The media could spin a good story out of rioting the day after the election.     The media would say, "This proves democracy is at risk."  "This proves elections don't work."   "This proves the elections are rigged."

It would be a natural progression from the 2000 election.  Al Gore was able to put doubt and suspicion in the minds of Americans .   He got people to wonder if the election was fair.  Now many people just assume that blacks are discouraged from voting or don't even get to vote.    An Obama loss in November 2008 could trigger his suggestion of a "quiet riot".

Supreme Court Vacancy?? It's Janice Rogers Brown Time!!

I woke up this morning to fantastic news!   Bush is preparing for a new Supreme Court nominee.   The news article says that no justice has announced their retirement, but Bush is preparing,  just in case of a surprise announcement.   The 2 most likely to retire are Stevens and Ruth "Buzzi" Ginsburg.   Stevens was appointed by a Republican President, and  I have read that he'd like to retire under a Republican president.

Ginsburg has been winning a battle against cancer.   She has also been  sleeping a lot on the bench, literally.   I have heard that she is determined not to retire under a Republican president,  much like Thurgood Marshall.   Towards the end of his term,  he'd watch soap operas in his office,  while his aides wrote his opinions.

Anyway,  my favorite pick for the next Supreme Court nomination also happens to be on Bush's short list of nominees: Janice Rogers Brown.   She was head of the California Supreme Court before being appointed  to the federal bench by Bush.  (She escaped that nasty judicial filibuster by the Dems.)   When i was in law school,  she was a frequent guest speaker to "The Federalist Society",  an organization for conservative law students and attorneys.

She would be the Dems' worst nightmare:  a female black conservative.  She has already been denounced by the left wing media.  Liberals in Congress said terrible things about her during her confirmation. her nomination would be just the thing to fire up the conservative base.   Let's hope Bush can make the right choice.

Fred Thompson: The "Jim Edgar" Effect

Everyone is on pins and needles waiting for Fred to announce.  Supposedly, all of the candidates who have no chance of winning (Tancredo,  Tommy Thompson,  Hunter, Paul, etc.)  will finally throw in the towel.  We will be left with watching Fred mop up the floor with "moderate" (ahem liberal)  Rudy McRomney.  People keep telling me that Fred is Reagan reincarnated.   I have to admit,  I don't know much about him except that he is a Republican and an actor.   I also know he was a Senator from Tennessee.  What I don't know is a lot of his views.  I am told by friends "But he's an actor!  Just like Reagan!!!   He's a Republican!  Just like Reagan!!"   The IMAO website has a lot of good things to say about Fred (Did you know he drinks coffee without cream, sugar, or water??)

What isn't sitting well with me is that Fred hasn't announced and seems to be revelling in the media attention,  not surprising for an actor.   I have heard he WILL announce on the 4th of July.  I think that'd be fantastic and a great setup to a successful campaign.   I have also heard that he WILL NOT  announce on July 4th.   I really wish he would decide.  The deadline for petitions in many primaries is coming soon.  (In Illinois , the deadline is the end of October.)

There's more at stake here than just satisfying the curiosity of the masses, though.  Fred is displaying what I call Jim Edgar syndrome.

In Illinois,  we had a former governor who hemmed and hawed over running for governor again in 2006.  He basked in all of the attention by the media and the IL GOP,  only in the end to decide against running.  This really crippled the IL GOP's chances at winning the governor's race.   It left us scrambling for a favorite and front runner.   We lost a lot of momentum for the campaign and a lot of time needed to rally behind a front runner and raise money.    Our party looked disheviled and unorganized.  In the end,  it cost us the election.

If many GOPans nationwide hold out for Fred, and he decides not to run,  they and the GOP leadership will be scrambling for a new star.  Let's face it,   Hillary/Obama will be tough to beat in a nation riddled with liberal guilt.     The current crop opf candidates isn't too exciting.   There is still time, though.   Maybe the candidacy needs to be offered to someone who the people can get excited about.   I think it's time for a Presidential draft.   We may not like who the GOP has offerred to us.  Why not let us tell the GOP who we want through a draft?   It worked for Ike.

Rosie: Holding Out for Jahero

Rosie has recently started a video blog.   It is her , her head writer, and hair stylist (I think)  sitting in front of a camera yammering.   What makes it fun is that they get really drunk beforehand,  or drink on camera.  (Rosie drinks Sam Adams beer.  Now we can boycott it.)   It's called "Jahero"  .   It's a combination of 3 names:  "Ja" is for Janette, the writer and Sharpie wielding maniac.    "He" stands for "Helene", Rosie's hair lady, and stand-in for Jamie Lee Curtis.      "Ro" stands for Rosie.

These 2 sidekicks of Rosie's are a little annoying.  They are the stereotypical snobby liberal New Yorkers, talking about the celebs they've seen and where they've been.   In between talking about these things,  they say, "You're right, Rosie."   It's fun to watch them struggle to get their faces in front of the small webcam.

"Ro" answers questions from readers.   If you're nice enough,  she'll mail you a t-shirt!!!      On one of her latest rants,  she complains that she has 5000 small plastic confetti guns with "The View" logo stamped on them .   What will she do with them now???

When Rosie melts down,  it's very funny.   It's also funny to hear her drivel while she's drunk!    I wonder if those TV show offers she got before last week's fight are still good??  Will any TV network take her now???

Rosie's Gone!!

Finally:

Elizabeth Hasselbeck, as you may already know,  took a bucket of water and dumped it on that wicked witch Rosie O'Donnell.   Now she's melting!!!!

Celebrity meltdowns are my favorite form of entertainment!!!

Update!

Rosie's head writer
was caught drawing mustaches on pictures of Elizabeth in "The View" offices.  She was escorted out of the building.  How immature for a woman in her 50's,  BUT if she's a liberal,  she's probably only 9 emotionally.

Update:

Wait for it....  Wait for it.....  And....

She's gone.

McCain Misses the Vote!!!

The Senate passed their "Iraq Surrender" bill last week.   Bush has promised to veto it. ( I haven't decided how I will celebrate the veto , yet.)

One interesting thing I noticed is that there was one noticeably absent Senator from the vote.... John McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    He was out campaigning for President.  You know,  you'd think that someone who is touting support for the Iraq war would bother to come to DC and vote on a bill that would cripple U.S. efforts.  He could have given a great speech on the Senate floor about why he supports our brave men and women in uniform serving in Iraq.  It'd have made a nice clip for a future campaign ad.

But no,  he can't fight the Surrendercrats.  He's got babies to kiss.

Well,  at least we know what his priorities are.

Condoleezza Rice Shows Her Fortitude

The Democrats in Congress have subpoenaed Condoleezza Rice to testify before a panel regarding the justification for the liberation of Iraq in 2003.   Hasn't she already done this??  Remember when Barbara Boxer pounced on her about not having children??   She was being grilled about the liberation of Iraq in a hearing before Congress.

Dr. Rice seems to think she has done this before as well.    She is not going to comply with the subpoena.   She said she would respond to questions by mail, but would not appear in person.  She said she addressed these questions during her confirmation hearings .  She also said that executive privilege applies to presidential aides not confirmed by the Senate .  (Dr. Rice was the National Security Advisor during the period covered by the Congressional panel's questions.)

In standing up to the Democrats and standing up for the Constitution,  Dr. Rice shows strength ad leadership.     Maybe we should ask her to stick around for a few more years.

Boris Yeltsin: The Condi Encounter

In memory of Boris Yeltsin,  who died this week,  I'd like to share a story I read in the book  "Condi:  the Condoleezza Rice Story" about the day Boris met Condi.

Dr. Rice served as an advisor to Bush 41 .  She was considered his point person for Soviet Union issues.  Boris Yeltsin came to Washington for a meeting with the Administration.   He thought he'd be meeting with the President,  but  he was scheduled to meet with a cabinet member instead.   Dr. Rice was sent to meet Yeltsin's limo at the entrance of the building where the meeting would take place.

Yeltsin was shocked that the limo had not stopped at the entrance of the Executive Office .   When the door opened,  he said to Condi ,  "This is not the way to the President's office!"

Condi replied,  "You don't have an appointment with the President. "  She explained he was to meet with a cabinet member.

Yeltsin became a diva and said "I am only going to meet with the President.  I am not leaving this car until I am taken to meet the President!"

Condi replied,  "Well you might as well turn around and go back to the hotel because you are not meeting with the President."

Yeltsin sat in the car and pouted in silence for 5 minutes.    Condi stood outside the car ,  silent for 5 minutes.   When he saw that she would not budge,  he reluctantly agreed to meet with the cabinet member.   He got out of the car and Dr. Rice grabbed him by the elbow and escorted him to the office .

Dr. Rice made quite an impression on Boris Yeltsin that day.    Anyone who can stand up to stubborn foreign leaders should be President.

Obama Gets Jesse-fied

Alas,  Barack Obama,  we hardly knew ye.

The rookie senator who seemed like a great "clean slate" candidate by the Dems has officially been co-opted by the Jesse Jackson/  Al Sharpton division .  He compared the shootings at Virginia Tech (the worst in U.S. history) to the racial slur by Don Imus.      He says that there are different kinds of violence in the world.

I think comparing a radio comment to mass murder is disgusting.  It dishonors the victims and their families.  It reminds me of a comment made by a caller to a radio show on 9/12/2001.  The caller said that racism was the black community's 9/11.   I think this is comparing apples and oranges.  Even worse, Obama used a tragedy to make a political comment that was totally unrelated to the incident.

I have heard Obama is being advised by Jesse Jackson.  I wonder how long it will be before Obama is rhyming in his speeches.

Condoleezza Rice is Third in South Carolina Straw Poll

South  Carolina,  besides having the most beautiful countryside in the United States,  is also the first state in the South to hold their Presidential primary .  Candidates have been visiting the state very frequently.  For the month of April , Republican committees of  all of the counties are holding their county conventions.  They elect their delegates to the state convention at these meetings.  They also hold Presidential straw polls.

Clarendon County held their convention last Saturday,  and I was fortunate enough to be a guest.   Many Presidential candidates sent representatives on their behalf to speak about why the members should vote for their candidate in the straw poll.  I spoke on behalf of the"Draft Condoleezza Rice" movement.   I explained how Dr. Rice can be persuaded to run through a draft movement,  in the spirit of the "I Like Ike" and Goldwater drafts.   I also explained her positions on abortion and the Second Amendment.   I said that the movement is more powerful for democracy because individual citizens campaign for her and ultimately bring the candidacy to her.

In the end ,  here are the straw poll results:

        McCain 28%
        Gingrich 21%
        Rice 14.28%
        Romney 14.28%
        Thompson 14.28%
        Giuliani 7.14 %
        Brownback 0%
        Tancredo 0%
        Huckabee 0%

Isn't it interesting that three of the top six people have not announced that they are running ?
This tells me that the party pool isn't closed yet.  There is still time for more candidates to declare they are running.

After the convention,  Mr. Bob Gibbons, the head of the Clarendon County GOP, and I went to the Dorchester County Republican Convention.   Once again,  they invited candidates' representatives to speak.  Mitt Romney's brother was one of the special guests.  I spoke in support of Dr. Rice, once again.  I was very happy with the delegates' responses.   Many people spoke to me after my speech saying they would support her if she ran.    People were interested in the concept of bringing the candidacy to the candidate, instead of the usual process of waiting for the candidate to declare they are running.

I was very happy to visit both of these counties in South Carolina.   Conventions and gatherings like these are the very essence of democracy.  It's not all about flashy TV ads.  People discussing government,  electing delegates , and showing support for issues  in their local areas are how democracy is cultivated .   I never have felt more patriotic than when I was speaking in front of crowds of patriots this weekend.

Thank you,  Clarendon County and Dorchester County Republican Parties  for your hospitality and service to our country.
